Calder Stewart - CSHQ
Calder Stewart is a national construction property group with over 400 employees around New Zealand.
A unique challenge that comes with having a large number of employees all working in different parts of the country is keeping the comms open and flowing. Our goal was to create a digital solution that the team would find easy to use, whether they were onsite or in the office.
The nature of the work that Calder Stewart does means that their teams are often out of range, on the move or on sites that don’t have easy access to technology. We needed a channel to connect the teams and allow better flows of information along the way. Recognising that a large proportion of people now have smartphones, this seemed the logical place to connect. We investigated a number of international comms solutions, and landed on customising a UK based app for the local market.
CSHQ was developed, customised and launched with a roadshow to introduce the team to the features and benefits, all of which aimed to produce more engagement between people. We also helped individuals get used to the app, with short training sessions and a communications programme to share tips and tricks. Now, over 90% of all Calder Stewart employees are using the app and are able to connect and stay up to date with all the company happenings, no matter where in the country they are operating.
Now, 98% of all Calder Stewart employees are using the app weekly and are able to connect and stay up to date with all the company happenings, no matter where in the country they are operating.
The feedback so far is that 85% of people at Calder Stewart are finding the tool very handy in their day-to-day communications. An outstanding result integral to Calder Stewart’s goal to build a strong future.
